- Spring
Breakup, mud season, and fast transitions. Some routes open while others are still winter—plan for variability.
- Summer
Peak access and demand. Marine weather, wildfire smoke, and fisheries rules can change plans quickly.
- Fall
Shoulder season with big weather swings. Daylight drops fast; storms and ice start to matter.
- Winter
Darkness, ice, and cold. Aurora is strong, but safety and access constraints dominate routing decisions.
